[AARON]

10 to 12 years old, Black/African American male. Someone who can play an internally strong yet externally gentle student. This young man has been through a lot. Although the death of his father hurt him, his childlike innocence helps him to overcome and teaches a powerful lesson to everyone around him.

[MISS DANA - Aaron's Teacher] 

Late 20s to early 30s, Caucasian female. Someone who can play a sweet, kind-hearted, encouraging, motherly, selfless, affectionate and loving teacher. Miss Dana is a teacher who has the students’ well being and safety as her main priority. Her presence is similar to Miss Honey from the 1996 hit movie Matilda.

[KAYLA - Aaron's Classmate]

10 to 12 years old, Any race/ethnicity. Kayla is a mama’s girl. She loves learning from her mother and takes pride in handling any responsibilities she’s given to the best of her ability. She’s an intelligent model student with big dreams. One day she may change the world. 

[NATHAN - Aaron's Classmate]

10 to 12 years old, Any race/ethnicity. Nathan is a creative child who often finds new ways of using things. He loves the outdoors and using his imagination to create things.  

[POLICE OFFICER] 

Early 20s to early 30s, Caucasian male. Although our police officer has the criminal and penal codes memorized, at the end of the day he’s still a rookie. This officer’s father was a cop and he’s dreamed of being one since he was a kid. He has no plan B. He’s outshined everyone in police academy with his work ethic and determination. He learns quickly that knowledge isn’t always as useful as experience. 

[DETECTIVE]

Mid/Late 40s to 50s, Caucasian male. Our detective believes in protecting and serving the community, but when issues arrive within his department his top priority is to make sure he protects his men. We’re looking for someone who can play a cunning tough as nails detective.

[CLAY - Aaron's Father]

Late 30s to 40s, Black/African American male. Clay was essentially born into a life of crime. His father was a huge drug dealer and barely around. Clay decided to follow in his footsteps at 13 years old and made thousands of dollars doing so. However, by 15 Clay was sitting in prison with a 6 year sentence. In prison Clay found God and made a conscious decision to change his life. After being released, Clay found work as a welder and joined a church where he eventually met his wife, Tanda. He and his wife had 2 kids, Aaron and Cessair, who they’ve raised as kind hearted God fearing young men.

[TANDA - Aaron's Mother]

Late 30s to 40s, Any race/ethnicity. Tanda is a faithful mother and devoted wife. She loves God and loves people. Although the death of her husband has rocked her world, she’s determined to hold on to her core beliefs.

[CESSAIR - Aaron's Brother]

Early 20s, Black/African American male. Since a kid, Cessair has always excelled in sports. His talent awarded him a baseball scholarship offer as a freshman. Cessair has always been popular in school and around town but he’s always remained humble. He deals with the death of his father internally and is not vocal about what happened. Cessair continued to play in game following the death of his father. His father taught him to never give up despite how hard things get. Still to this day those words are embedded in his mind.
